On August 3, 1957, Virginia Erdmann brought action against the administratrix of the estate of Milton Wolfe, deceased, and
the insurer of Milton Wolfe. The action was for damages resulting from injuries sustained in a collision on August 18, 1955.
The collision occurred between a car driven by Miss Erdmann, in which there were five passengers, and a car driven by Milton
Wolfe, in which there were no passengers. Mr. Wolfe died a few days after the accident. The collision occurred at about 8 p. m. on highway 57-42 about one thousand feet west of the city limits of Sturgeon Bay,
Wisconsin. The highway is concrete, straight and level, twenty-four feet wide with ten-foot gravel shoulders, running generally
east and west at the point of the collision.
